Wordpress Updates Not Working

I have wordpress installed and running fine. The problem is when I have to update wordpress or plugins, the auto update function is not working successfully. Is there a trick as to how to configure my WHS 2011 to allow these auto updates to work?

I am looking to avoid coin manual file copying to install these updates if possible.
