Windows 7 Client Fails To Get Backed Up

Tried several searches for this but cannot find anything that gets to a solution for my current issue, so apologies if someone reads mine and then posts a link and says 'look here' ;-)

Bought a new laptop recently running Windows 7 (64b) to replace a laptop running Windows Vista (32b).  I can't get the automated overnight backup to work for this client.  Works perfectly well for two other 32b clients running Windows Vista Business and Windows 8.  Also backups, perfectly well, my new laptop if it's already switched on and not in sleep mode.  Or indeed commences a backup after I logon to the laptop.

The connector troubleshooter reports a number of errors:-

1. Version on client doesn't match that of server.  Don't know why, I installed it from the Software share on my server.  That folder has both 32b & 64b msi files so I'm assuming the setup.exe just pulls the appropriate msi file for the client it's installing on?  Also checked all files in the Software share for 'file blocked as comes from a different source' button, but all clear.

2. Cannot connect to the servers internal web site (password hint page)

How do I go about resolving this please as I've tried the suggestions provided by the troubleshooter to no avail?  :-(

3. Also had an issue with a RDP connection saying there was a problem with the WHS security certificate.  Tried installing it, no change.  Eventually had to change the properties of the RDP connection to ignore certificate issues.

Thanks.

[edit]Should I be able to see a task scheduler entry for the overnight backup on the windows 7 client?  I can't see one, so is that problem and if so how do I correct it?
