I read other links about how to do this, but my problem is unique.
I have 8 drives.
1) WHS detected a hard drive failure on one of my 2Tb drives. I removed the drive and plugged it into another system. It was stuck or something, not spinning up. I tapped on it and got it spinning. Plugged it back into the WHS box, and it was recognized. Maybe it wasn't getting full power or something?
Anyways, now it is reporting I am missing a different 1TB drive. The thing is, it also reports the same drive as working. Yes that means I have 8 drives all working, and a 9th phantom drive that says it is missing.
I can't remove this phantom drive because of "file conflicts". I think I know which drive is being picked up twice because the temperatures are always the same. I tried removing the drive I think it is being picked up twice from the storage pool and I get an error that "an unknown error occured".
So how do I fix this problem?
2) *Bonus question: I purchased a 2Tb drive to replace the bad drive (that apparently does not even exist) but did not notice that the drive I bought is an Advanced format drive. Is it unusable as well?
