After having a 2nd OS HDD fail on my Lenovo D400 WHSv1, I've decided that if I'm going to go through a full reinstall and copy of 4TB of data files again, I'm going to give WHS2011 a shot this time.
I ordered WHS2011 and another WD Red 2TB drive, but I'm looking for advice on how to actually go about the install without using the OEM WHSv1 disks and going virtually blind.
I'm guessing that this isn't quite as simple as installing from the OEM disks over the LAN - or is it?
If not, is this an installation I can begin with the new HDD connected to a PC with KVM (keyboard-video-mouse) and then move the drive into the D400 for completion of the installation? If that's a viable option, can someone provide some idea of how this works so I know what to expect?
