Hello All,
I was unfortunate enough to pick up a used h340. Since getting it I was awaiting a new drive replacement from WD, so I bought another drive for my h342 and figured I would just put the new replacement drive in the h340.
After placing the new drive in the H340, connecting my monitor, keyboard and mouse ( I have the adapter) jumping jp3 and attaching a external dvd drive, I booted it up. It came up, I went into the bios, chose the usb drive as boot option 1, and my new 2TB drive ( sata ) as boot option 2. The dvd started to churn, it stated loading windows driver, then went to windows setup, screen went black and then I get a BSOD 00000000x5 etc..
Funny thing is this: When I reboot the machine, leave the drive in and detach the external dvd drive, it still says loading drivers and then windows setup and then the BSOD.
1. Has the setup information already been put on the new drive?
I have been reading the forums, even tried my h342 server recovery disk, but when I use that dvd it doesn't do anything after the boot up past the bios. I actually don't think it found an OS at that point ( trying to remember since I tried so many things )
suggestions? Ideas? Anyone have the h340 server recovery cd, all you need to do is create an iso from the dvd and make it bootable, then just let me download it. I would like to try that if possible.
I am going to try some other things like installing windows 7 or something.. just to see what happens.. I would like to get this server operational if I can, so any help is appreciated. Believe me I have gone over the forums tooth and nail, so not sure what else can be said but figured I post.
Thanks
