Hello all,
I have a small issue with the hibernating state of my server and lan speed after wake up.
I have the following config:
Several wired computers wich are coonected via a cheap SoHo switch to my fritzbox
All comps have Gbit network cards.
My main computer and my WHS 2011 sever have two nic's wich I teamed using intel software to share network load.
The issue:
After waking up networkspeed didn't get back up to 1Gbit. At first it even was 10 Mbit !
What did I trie to fix this:
- I turned off power managment settings to save energy on my nic's; this resulted in 100Mb after wake up
- I un-teamed the nic's using intel teaming ( no results)
- I reseted the switch (That did the trick !)
So I conclude the isue must be in the negotiation handled by the switch.
I am contemplating if buying a smart (managed) switch will fix this.
Does anyone have any experience with the situation as mentioned above?
Will a better switch work for me ?
Wich model do you advice?
Thanks in advance:
Eric
