I recently installed WHS 2011 on my HP N40L and I'm getting slow transfer speeds when moving files over the network. I haven't seen anything above 5.0MB/s, as far as I know this is very slow and I should be getting much better speeds than this.
I have 4x 2TB HDDs in the server in a software RAID5 array, with a separate 250GB drive for the server OS. I have tried copying from the boot drive to the storage array and got much better speeds so I'm guessing it's a problem with the network, not the software RAID array. I have also tried connecting my PC and the server directly using an ethernet cable and I still got slow speeds. I'm not really sure what else to try. Any advice?
I read the sticky about network problems but I can't actually find where to change those options.
