I'm trying to eek out a little bit more life from my old WHS v1 EX470 box. It has been pretty faithful, but it's filling up and I'm too lazy to delete stuff...
Can someone sanity check that this is going to be as easy as I imagine (before I make an expensive mistake)
I'm planning on...
1) Buying an eSATA 4 bay non-RAID (JBOD) enclosure, maybe this: http://www.hotway.com.tw/products/hf2-su3s2.htm - I understand that 4 drives is the max supported?
2) Putting one or two drives in initially. I believe I can only use max 2TB drives?
3) Plug-n-playing it into the eSATA port and wait and watch my 90% full internal disks balance themselves out nicely.
Is that going to work? I've done a bit of research, but most articles that show the use of an external enclosure list models that aren't available anymore.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
