I seem to have a different issue with trying to install the connector software from my main client (desktop) to the new WHS 2011 server. I get an error message that says "Cannot connect the computer to the server because either another software installation is in progress or the computer has a restart pending" . I have tried most of what the net has to offer which mostly consists of changing a registry value which doesn't seem to work. I have tried to install the connector software from a "safe mode" and get the "unexpected error" message and I am looking for a path to troubleshoot through the problem but am not sure, or savay enough to be able to figure out what the dialog is trying to tell me. I am not installing any software that I am aware of and I don't have a "pending shutdown" hiding in the background (I thinknot but who knows what goes on in that little box of parts). Any help in pointing me in a direction would be better than where I am right now. I even used "procexp64" to try and disable or exit any background functions and that didn't help at all. After yanking drive extender from WHS1 I am starting to wonder if Microsoft is just up to "yanking my chain" and then discontinuing the product. If so I consider them to be testing the low point of my patience but I suppose they have better things to do than create a product that is "plug and play" ( I think that that was their term not mine).
