Hello there,
after few years with WHS1 I decided to "upgrade" my HP Media Smart Server EX490 to WHS2011. I performed unnatended installation (all worked OK).
Now I want to connect my back-up e-SATA drive to rear connector. However the drive is not recognised by WHS2011 and I have Mass Storage Controller among my devices having no driver.
I installed Intel SATA AHCI driver as per this post: http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?/files/file/251-lights-management-for-windows-home-server-2011/ (although I don't care about LEDs right now).
My Intel Rapid Storage Technology application shows External Empty port 5 even if I connect the drive.
See screenshot of devices attached. I assume that this mysterious storage controller is the reason why I don't see the e-Sata drive.
Let me point our that the very same external HDD was working OK under WHS1.
Any idea what this second storage controller is and what driver to install?
