I'm really running out of ideas on how to proceed, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Background:
In short, this all started because the Search charm and area on the Start page of Windows 8 stopped working. I can't search for anything under my account. If I create a new user account, Search works for that one. This leads me to believe that my user account is corrupted.
Attempted Solution:
No problem, I thought, I'd just use WHS (v1) and restore my system back to a good state. Everything was fine 3 days ago, so I'd just jump back to that point
What Happened:
All of my restore attempts were "successful", but my Search issue was never resolved. For some reason Search under my main user account just won't work any more. Works fine under new user accounts. I tried restoring my computer to 3 days before Search broke, 10 days before, even 20 days before it broke and in each case, Search just won't work for my account when I restart the system.
Help...?
Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? I've been restoring to known "good" restore points. I know for a fact that Search was working at those dates because I use the feature regularly.
Does anyone know why I keep running into this issue, no matter how far back in time I go? Suggestions? Pointers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been wrestling with this issue for hours each night for almost a week now.
