Moved our USB color printer to the Living Room from the Basement Home Office. Saves the trip down down stairs to print. Put the printer on the home network so its more convenient to use from any PC/laptop/notepad.
The Printer Server a simple utilitarian printer server by TP-Link. I chose TP-Link because their gigabyte switches have been working flawlessly for a while now, so I thought I would try their server.
Model TP-PS110U is a printer server with a USB 2.0 printer connection and RJ45 network connection (10/100).
The server is about 50 x 75 mm rectangle, and about 25 mm thick. Pretty small! Configured the server and installed the printer on each PC/Laptop in the house. Not hard to do, just took a little time because the documentation is missing critical info that took me a while to figure out. Probably would be obvious to everyone else....
The laptops and desktops work great! Multiple print jobs at once from different users print fine.
The little box does what it is supposed to do, and does it flawlessly. Rock solid, dependable, and nice little web interface similar to home routers. Also has LED indicator lights for USB speed, network speed, power and a reset button.
Best part is the server cost $32.00 US. I can't believe it!
If you could use a no-frills printer server for your home network or even small office, this will do the job for not much cash.
