I am trying to build a server for friends with hardware I already have and keep costs to a minimum. The P4 I was hoping to use is just too old and upgrading the memory alone would cost £40 for 2gb. I also have a dell Dimension E520 with a CELERON PROCESSOR 346 3.0Ghz.
Will this processor be up to the job? The server will be used for serving files (mainly office stuff with some mp3 and possibly some small video files) and for backups.
I don't have much experience of celeron chips so any advice would be appreciated. I did search first but didn't find much useful info.
