Hi guys.
Hoping on a bit of help here :-)
My 1tb client backup drive has been completely filled, so the backup service won't start and it won't cleanup by it self.
I had noticed the drive getting close to filled, and I knew, that especially my sons setup, with tons of games, was taking up a lot of space. So I customised the backup set for his pc, to exclude the likes of steam etc. But after a few days, before I got the chance to do something about it, the drive had filled completely.
So having just update my mediacenter to win 8, I deleted this computer, and told it not to keep the backups. I changed the plan to keep less backups in general. I manually choose a bunch of backups to be deleted, and finally, I decided to start over from scratch with my sons pc. So I deleted his machine from the server. This time, I was not asked if I wanted to keep the backup or not.
Anyway, I have manually run the cleanup task several times. Each time letting it run for several days, and the only thing I have gotten, is 0,2gb free space. So it is not working, and it seems it will not repair it self.
So now I want to start over completely. I want to format/delete the entire backup database, and then start over, with the very customised backup set, to avoid backing up several hundred gigabytes of games, that change quite often.
But how? If I just delete the files, will the backup service not just complain about that? :-) anyone have any experience with this?
