I made a post earlier but i think i miss worded my post completely. I am receiving some money in march and meed to make a huge decision. Should i build my first nas or upgade or grow my htpc rig with external storage. I will post my curent rig at the bottom. I am currently using a mediasonic 4 bay external non network box. After reading all the posts i am concerned about the life of my hhds. There full of movies wich arnt the biggest deal but still expect some life out of them. I am also getting really into the rasberry pies and starting to understand xbmc upnping. my goal in all is to network out to a pie or two and maybe a couple laptops. With all this being said will it be sufficiant to run my networked storage of my HTPC and media sonic boxes or is it time to build my server. What will be the pitfalls of using the htpc and what should i expect to get out of the nas (instant backups not a big deal)
