I need a lot of help on deciding on a mother board for my new whs 2011....mainly, because I know very little about mother boards. I've already purchased my processor, because it was on sale. I went with an i5-2400. Didn't go with the i5-2500k as suggested in the WeGotServed book "25 Essential Windows Home Server Projects," because I'm not interested in over-clocking, plus it was $100.00 more. My primary use of my server is to backup client computers, stream HD movies, music, and pictures to my media room and other TVs/PCs. Currenty I have a collection of over 350 movies on my HP MediaSmart v1 WHS and 12 Harddrives totalling over 16TB. I need a motherboad that will suport all this and more. I could also use a suggestion on a good mini tower case.....can be bigger than the MediaSmart, but simular foot-print.
One of my external storage cases is eSata so and motherboard with eSata would be great. Also has to have Gigabit network port.
