I run an HP EX485 with the original 1 TB drive and 3 x 2 TB drives, two of which are in the storage pool - the 3rd is reserved for local backups along with one USB drive.
My issue is that the 20 GB C drive parition is almost full.
I am presently compressing the drive to recover some space (that worked with my previous EX-475), but is looking around I see that in the C:FS folder are two sub-folders 15 and 1E which have copies of files that are on the server - I gather from what they are that they the system somehow believes that they are cached . . . . they comprise local mail server logs, recent downloads and stuff from the communal 'My Documents' directory, all of which are officially on the 'D' drive - folder replication is not used and no one backs up to the server.
But a number of them are folders with data and media files that were created years ago and haven't been accessed recently in any way, shape or form.
Can they be safely deleted to create additional space on the drive? There are several GBs of data involved.
Can the C drive parition be increased in size? And what tool might one use to do this? I have a copy of Partition Magic 8 from my dual boot XP machine - but those operations can be tricky and with as much data as I have I'd prefer not having to restore my server.
The server is running version 2.5.15.35297 - and updates are switched off - a check of the HP update link in the console claims the machine is up to date. Windows Update wants to download and install PowerPack 2 (as one of a whole bunch of updates that are available). I'm loathe to update modules that aren't causing trouble unless I need to.
Thanks for any insight.
