After several failed reinstall attempts, I am done with this box.
Long story.... Problem started as cross linked files reported in the console. I tried a few fixes, all failed. Since I just use this as a backup device, I decided to remove all content in shared folders. I figure I can just resotere all data quicker than fixing the reported problem. So I remove data and reboot. After that I cannot even ping the server on the network. I do System restore, which completes and still cannot see/find the server on the network. So then I attempt to do a fresh install. I get the blue network light to come on (several times) and run the install.exe from the CD using a Win32 client and run as adminstrator..... blah, blah, blah... all attempts fail. I am just SO done with headless/no video card servers in a box, I can't tell you how much I hate this damn thing. I knew someday this would become the state of this 'server' and it has. I moved onto WHS 2011 when it came out and at that time I built a nice server (with video, when needed) and it works just fine, so no big deal. I'll just repurpose the v1 drives and call it a day.
This Acer has worked for the most part since I bought it, but I gotta say I'd like to personaly flog the engineer that thought a video/headless server was a good idea. You are basically screwed when it comes down to this. That and this gawd awful push-a-pin-in-it-and-wat-for-frickin-ever-and-hope-it-finally-works-someday nonsense is just pathetic IMO.
Yes, I tried all the wisdom mentioned in this thread, heck I even contributed to it.

No, I will not do some similar song and dance with a USB flash drive to get 2011 installed on it.
No, I will not give you the parts. Might sell it for parts if the price is right.
I hate this damn thing, if I owned guns, I'd use it for target practice.
