As in my other thread, I have two servers, 2011 and v1. The laptop I use was backing up happily to the v1 server. Rainbows and unicorns all round.
I decided to get the cheap Win8 upgrade so I did a fresh recovery install of Win7 to let me remove any unwanted applications and drivers and just tidy up. After it was patched and u to date, I introduced it to the 2011 connector software. However ... the laptop will not back up. Not as Win7 or Win8, so it can't be the update.
The message I get is that the backup was unsuccessful. Insufficient storage for backup. The unicorns are dead and sky is full of clouds.
I see the backups are targetted at the server's D:\ServerFolders\Client Computer Backups. Drive D: has nealy 600GB free space and the partition on the client is 831GB but only 102GB used (and the recovery and system partitions which are not a lot).
Is the problem an actual physical lack of server space or am I being misdirected? If it is space, may I relocate the backup directory to another drive, and how? Obviously the v1 server had a data pool and didn't have to worry about this.
Thanks.
